If you’re visiting my website you are probably experiencing one of the most difficult times in your life. The ground may be cracking around your feet. You may be finding day to day tasks hard. You may feel numb. However grief is affecting you, please know that I am here for you.
Like everyone, I have lost loved ones along my journey through life, and have been drawn not only to the memories that they leave behind for us, but also the signs that our loved ones can send us: a butterfly in December; a double rainbow as you leave the graveside; a white feather landing on your shoulder. Our loved ones are always with us.
About Me
I’m Mali Gravelle, an independent Funeral Celebrant and fluent Welsh speaker based in Cardiff. I am a people person and have portrayed many in my long career as an actor.
A mother of two teenagers, (and a cavapoo), I relish being around family and the many friends that I love. I would describe myself as being a good listener, friendly, warm, with a good sense of humour. My daughter describes me as being “busy in the brain” - positive, get up and go, fast paced and very caring.
I offer a bespoke service in English or Welsh or a combination of both for all ceremony types in any location: whether a larger formal memorial or a more intimate occasion for just closest friends and family.

Why Pluen Wen?
A Celebrant is a person who creates and delivers a unique personalised service for you and your loved ones. Whether that’s for a funeral, a wedding, naming ceremony, renewal of vows, or pet remembrance.
As a Funeral Celebrant I am here to support you during your time of need. I will sit with you, chat and most importantly listen, to hear about your loved ones and create a beautiful, fitting, personal and inclusive ceremony.
I offer a bespoke service for all ceremony types in any location: whether a larger formal memorial or a more intimate occasion for just closest friends and family.
As an independent Funeral Celebrant I can work with you to create the perfect ceremony for a funeral, interment or scattering of ashes.
Our first point of contact will be a phone call to arrange a Zoom meeting or a meeting in person. I will set aside 2 hrs for this initial meeting with you and close family, where we can talk about your loved one in all their colours and discuss your preferences for the service. Every small detail is important, as it’s from this meeting I will create the ceremony.
Chatting with you, tea in hand, together we will slowly paint the picture of who your loved one was to you.
My fee is £250 plus mileage of £0.45 per mile outside of a 5 mile radius to Cardiff. I will donate 10% of my fee to a charity of your choice. There is no charge for children's funerals.
I want to know all about the person you have lost. Who they were. What made them tick. What they liked, what they loved, what they hated, their quirks, their adventures. What made them uniquely them.
And how their life has affected you all as part of their family.
I will guide conversations and note all the important feelings and memories you have. Suggest poems and readings, along with being guided by you with regards to these choices.
The most important thing to me is that one of the most difficult days of your lives can become a celebration of the life you have lost. To remember them in their way with as many smiles as tears.
